Hello, I'm Tessa (she/her)
Therapy can be a wonderful experience, and finding a good fit with a therapist makes it all the better. Here’s some information about me and my style to help you decide if I’m the right fit for you.
Therapy with Me
My approach to therapy begins with the reality that we are living in a time of profound disconnection—relationships under strain, organizations in conflict, communities stretched thin, and ecosystems unraveling around us.
But disconnection is not the end of the story. Beneath the loneliness and fragmentation lives the possibility of reconnection—a way back to community. The very experiences that wound us also point toward what we most need: trust, belonging, and the reminder that we already carry the capacity to heal together.
Your work with me begins here. Drawing from nature’s resilience, trauma-informed practice, and liberatory frameworks, I support individuals, relationships, organizations, and communities in learning to hold complexity, navigate rupture, and grow the capacity for trust—not just in the midst of collapse, but especially in a moment like this.

This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about creating conditions where healing and collaboration can take deep root. Whether you come seeking therapy, relational support, organizational guidance, or tools to meet the climate crisis, you’ll find pathways here to help you move forward with clarity and care.
Cost of Sessions
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length. Cost per session is $200.
I do not take insurance, but do have a small sliding scale for folks who need it.
About Me
I come from a diverse background of people who settled in North America after leaving Europe, including Finnish and Irish ancestors, and I am a descendant of the Potawatomi people of Lake Huron. I’m a mother, a community member, and I’ve lived down the street from the Mississippi River my whole life.
I’ve spent the past 15 years as a trauma psychotherapist, offering a blend of somatic and talk therapy, including brainspotting. My approach is grounded in a commitment to liberation from the dehumanizing impacts of disconnection and loneliness, and I am constantly grappling with the impacts of capitalism and systemic pressures and trying to reshape my relationship to theses.
I love exploring how we repair and reconnect despite those pressures. My areas of expertise and interest include:
-
Disconnection and Loneliness and finding Reconnection
-
Navigating eco-anxiety, climate grief, and collective trauma
-
Relational depth, intimacy, and pleasure
-
LGBTQIA+, polyamory, and non-traditional relationship structures
-
Brainspotting Somatic Therapy
-
Sexual intimacy
-
Cultural humility, and curiosity
